Here's something I quoted in another thread in case it was missed.

The ellipsoids, the avus rims and the clear front indicators weren't standard until the 1994 MY cars.

My old car was one of these and they are not uncommon.

I know about the introduction of Avus rims, ellipsoids and clear indis in MY94, but it was always my understanding that only a handful of Avants were made with the old rims and lights. I had always assumed a few 'odd' ones were rushed to the UK in the 93 model year because of demand and they wanted dealers to have demonstrators to take orders for next year when the facelift came in.

I'm trying to guage how rare they are...

Hey Paul - hope your doing well...

My old Avant was apparantly one of the first in the UK. K965 EVV registration.
Chassis Number - WAUZZZ8CZPA219126
Engine Number - ABY001947
No roof rails, five spoke, crap headlights
There is no ABS cancel switch above the radio!
On the V5 it says the date of first registration was 01/05/93

Any other questions - just ask..

my avant was from april ore may 1993,the spare wheel was the shini one so i think those where one std. ,with rof rails
no switch for the abs,aby engine blew in 1995/96 at 197tkm audi payed for half of the parts and all of the layber, 16000 d mark ,just for engine not turbo.there was heated leather seats, 2 elektric windows,cruise control,6spd. non elipsode lights, normal red color.
will se if i can dig up the numbers.it´s being restored by a freind who bought it after they found it.
