England may have made it too the Big Show....

in Germany next year but they won't last long! They will be lucky if they don't get whacked in the first round!! Vegas odds makers say the USA will outlast England. And judging from what has been going down with the Lions...well UK fans better not get their hopes up. Why can't England ever make it too the Final?

Easy now, I could just take your money off you!

I think it will be a different story in 12 months time and all this media negativity will only strenghten the resolve of the team to perform well IMO.

    Come on three lions!

    Cheers,

USA to outlast england. hahahahahah. I admit we have been playing pretty badly(understatement) recently, but it will be a different story come the finals. What odds are they giving on USA to outlast England. Got to be worth a bet that one, in fact where are my life savings. Oh balls my S2 has eaten them.

LOL, England whacked USA with a 3rd choice side the other month.

I'll take you up on the money. Whilst there is a lot of negativity surrounding the side in the press, England have conceeded only 4 goals in qualification!!!

Only the top top draw sides can really beat us in competition.

Look at who they had to play in the run up

Can't see them taking the lead against Brazil and losing to the odd goal in the Quarters.

TBH i think at the 2002 World Cup the USA punched above their weight so to speak, but you cant argue with the results, they beat Portugal, drew with the semi finalists and lost 1-0 to the finalists in the quarter final.

                    USA 3-2 Portugal

                    South Korea 1-1 USA

                    Poland 3-1 USA

                    Mexico 0-2 USA

                    Germany 1-0 USA

Infact the Germans were overjoyed to get such easy opposition in the semi's

Aye, i wont argue that on paper you are right, not top drawer teams. Having said that i dont think anyone would have bet that the USA would have made the quarters. Thats really the only point i'm trying to make.

England consistantly fail at the last or second to last hurdle, ie i would bet a fair bit of money we will make the quarter finals at least next year. To progress any further we have to adopt a system with a holding player in midfield just in front of the defence.
Otherwise it will be the same old story.

At the end of the day it's the same old story, i'm as much an england fan as anyone else but we've been hearing this for ages, at least at every major tournament since euro 96' 'oh yeah this time we'll win it' but lo and behold completely bottle it at the last hurdle, the fat lady has not sung yet.

Yes but England have no right to win it, luck, injuries, weather, decisions so many factors influence the game which is why it's loved.

In Japan england were playing in temps over 30 C and nearly 40 C pitch side against South Americans in the midday sun, on reflection they did well.

Who would have put Greece down to win Euro 2004?

End of the day the last world cup grouping and draws were highly suspect as well as the refreeing against any team playing South Korea.

Englands downfall is the lack of flexibility within the team and management, we can only play one way where as south american teams can change the pace of the game.

England stand the best chance ever this year in recent times because it's in Europe and if they adopt the high tempo pressing game they should, weather conditions are not a factor and no team has hit top form in the build up.

End of the day roll on next summer!

Her we go again For once why doesnt England just go there and do their best and if they win then good for you if they dont then good for you .Just cut out the F------G bull--it for I and many other Scots are sick to our back teeth of it, You may actually get more support if you did .And yes I do remember 1966 I was ten years old it was amazing how you turned a win into a joke .my final comment on the subject is that Scotland and all the other teams did their best but on the day it wasnt good enough such is life
