    Dubai S2 Coupe

Hi guys, new member saying hi first of all!! this forum looks brilliant!

I am an expat Brit living in Dubai at the moment, looking at buying an S2 Coupe - I dont really know anything about this car other than its quick and looks great. The car is very well priced at just over a grand (cars are so cheap here) and looks in perfect nick (not had it checked over yet) My worry is that I saw on a website that the S2 was only available in Europe, it's a 92 car and I wonder whether or not it would survive the up to 50 degree heat (in the summer) or would it die? Also, I really dont want to fall in to expensive turbo repairs, I know Audi's are bombproof but it's whether or not the car would survive!

    Any help appreciated, thanks!!

It's got an Aux rad that we don't really need over here, so it may "use" it over there. There are plenty of other cars operating in that heat aren't there?
For a grand you can buy it and if it doesen't work out, send it back over here and I'll have it.:mischeif:

... And replace the thermostat with a different one (70 degree) or remove it entirely.

I agree with ~Delta, probably best to remove the thermostat, and make sure the radiators are in good condition. Also working aircon will be essential in the 49.9 degree heat. I'll be back in Dubai in a few weeks, if you want an 91 3B S2 owner to check it out for a second opinion.

I agree with Porkkis - do NOT remove the thermostat - unless it is faulty.

Try driving it with standard thermostat. The S2 is designed to run at 90 degrees celsius. If you find the car always running significantly hotter, then consider a cooler 'stat... But removing it is wrong as the car will take longer to get up to temperature.
