Removing the glass from the fogs

Anyone knows how to remove the glass from the fog lights (S2 fogs)? I got a broken fog, so i see how is the glass glued with the plastic, but i would like to remove the glass from another good foglight (with broken pins) and glue it back to my plastic box.

shall i go microwave or standard water cooking? (or something else)

I plan on prizing mine apart, i tried at the weekend, but took a small chip out of it, so im going to put mine in the oven to warm up and soften the glue, then hopefully they will prize open releatively easy i hope.

Just checked the FA and the glass doesn't seem to be available on its own. Martyn may be able to confirm this

As far as i can tell its the unit that you buy as a whole, the projector part is a separate part from memory tho.

silicone sealant dissolver is available from plumbers merchants here but I don't know if you have it there.

The glass cannot be ordered separately, it comes as a sealed unit. Seems a bit silly really when you can get replacement headlight glasses without any trouble.

Been onto Vagparts today bout this after my arguement with a badger and it seems the cheapest way is by the glass and housing and put the old jibbs in it. 30 quidish.

Both, one side, housing and glass is one part.

I also cheched that newer and older style difference is only on the glass/housing part. IIRC they changed the style in the middle of MY92. Newer glass shows the lens more clearly and the glass angle is a bit different. Newer style fits with white indicators better.

So for around 100 euros it's possible to convert both of the old fogs to newer style if someone wishes.

So after all it's not very silly as the price isn't crazy.
