Total Audi mag - whats the verdict?

I agree with S2 Ant -

<Rant mode> I'm amazed at how shoddy some of these 'feature' cars are these days. Too much value placed on headline friendly specifications, that any numpty can apply given enough of daddy's money... Turboed VR6 Golf on 17's anyone? Nice to have but not worthy of a showcase feature unless it's got an original twist and ALL the details are spot on. </Rant mode>

Well, having just sat down and read this thread from beginning to end, I have to say that I fully accept the blame for under-delivering on the promises front, but I hope now that most of you are holding a copy (I'm still sending out mags by the way, so be patient as the postage comes from my own pocket and I can't even afford to put petrol in my car at the moment), you can see the sheer effort that has been put into Total Audi.
I have to admit I was shocked and hurt by some of the comments posted on here but I know how it looks to the casual observer. Yes, the website needs an update but that costs time and money to be done properly. Simon, the guy who put his money where his mouth is and funded the development and execution of TA, designed the website himself in his spare time, but he has a full time job and loads of other committments and I am very grateful to him for helping me get this far. The website will be updated when we have more money.
Be aware, very aware, that TA is a true case of 'by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts' and where we don't have the financial clout of IPC or EMAP (or even Autometrix come to that - nice to have the cash cow that is GTI International to fall back on, isn't it?) we stand firm in our beliefs that this title of ours has REAL potential.
So get behind me lads and stop being negative. I have a thick skin but I don't want to keep logging on here and reading negative BS about me. This magazine is reality, finally, and it's time we all had a bloody good beer to celebrate its arrival.

Excellent post, and thanks for your honesty and being big enough to admit that communication has not been the greatest. I am also pleased that myself and others have been proved wrong and that the magazine is a reality. I do understand your position and I think it would be worth reiterating some of your points. I don't think we should expect TA to be quite as spectacular as some other publications, purely down to its small staffing levels and the fact that it has been produced on a part time basis. However it is great to see a magazine for the likes of us actually in production.

I am willing to start buying it but would if possible like to buy single copies before commiting to a subscription.

Can you let us know if it is possible to buy single issues?

Also, if you are interested in anyone submitting articles from the forum, let us know. I am sure there are more than a few people willing to tell you about thier Audi's past and present and provide some info....

The magazine needs money, plain and simple! the way it generates this is buy getting people to buy it. The only deal is, is to buy a subscribtion. Have a leap of faith, some of us put our faith in it nearly 3 years ago with funds.
