Yes just turn up to the next AUDI sponsored event and instead of driving their new Rs4 into a TT, just drive it straight out of the gates. If you can run out after smashing their car up, I'm sure you can drive out in one of them, just keep your foot planted and watch for the 'copter.

Spoke to my mate about this earlier, its apparently £50 to code the keys and they can do it there, doesnt need to be sent anywhere and that is for coding as many keys as you want, not per key.

They charge £100 per key if its a flip key, which obviously you wouldnt need to worry about anyway.

Hope that helps a bit at least?

Where did you get your key cut? Did you get a blank from eBay? If so - how much?

Im sure my mate that works at a dealer got his keys programmed at work for his S plate Caravelle, unless something has changed between this year and the year of your car??

He is off work this week, but if he is able to help, he's back at work next week and i can get him to take a look if you still need help?

They will probably still insist on seeing proof of identity and ownership though. VAG insist dealers keep records of who orders keys or has coding done.

Thanks Ben, so if i supply the cut key and the flip i only have to pay £58.75 for getting it coded. That isn't bad for a bumming i suppose

Its a flip key type and i have all the bits, the blank blade and remote, all i need is for a tech to spend two minutes reading the ECU security code, generate the 4 digit code from this and program the transponder. I can get the blade cut no bother! Is this possible or am i going to have to fork out and take it in the holiest of holes again from VW UK.
Unfortunately you do have to send off to Germany. What happens is they plug the car in to the diagnostics computer which connects the GEKO central server in Germany and supplies the codes.

You can't get the codes from the Immo on the car, at least not from a dealer but I have heard of automotive key specialists who claim to be able to do it.

Now having said that it doesn't cost £180. That would be about right if you we're buying the key as well. If you have the key cut ready then you should be able to get it coded at a stealer for around half an hours labour (from us around £50+VAT)

Main problem is she recently lost the only key we have, previous owner only supplied one key and the emergency placky thing. Luckily i found it but had i not we would have had a very expensive paperweight!

And if she didn't drive it i would have to, with her in it! See the problem now.
