agreed, except drop crutch and you need ledley king or similar in the holding role, drop carragher and replace with young or donkey neville. robinson in goal.

The only thing crouch has going for him is that he is tall, and he isnt realy any good at doing that. No place for him nor Hargreaves and definetely no Nevilles.
Rooney will need to be on his best behavior. It does England no good to get him sent off early in a crucial game because of his temper. Don't you think other teams know about Rooneys bad temper & will bait him unmercifully? Crouch as you saw against Argentina was a great decoy, drawing defenders with him to give Cole & Owens space too move & attack. Crouch must remain. His height gives other shorter teams a headache.
There are 4 holding midfield players international class at present: Scott Parker, Michael Carrick, Nicky Butt, Owen Hargreaves.
My preference is Parker but it wont happen as Sven is afraid to drop either Gerrard of Lampard

Crouch is a bag o'*****, he's worse than James Beattie and thats saying something.
Sven made a huge mistake against argentina in dropping J.Cole to keep Lampard and Gerrard in the side. when he came on the side was alot more balanced down the left.
Basically Sven has to tell Gerrard to play as a holding midfielder, he used to do it when he played alongside Scholes so i don't see the proble.
IMO Gerrard and Lampard are too similar type of player. Its either or not both. Agreed when J Cole came on vs the Argies we looked a lot better....
The good thing about the world cup is its a series of games where you need a good SQUAD. Before we have only had one team in the squad and about 8 decent players. We now have multiple combinations of players that can play in different scenarios and about 16 world class players....
And yes we do need another holding player. and yes I would take crouch as he has proved he can upset the opposition defence, even if he hasn't scored. Give the guy a chance, I reckon he will come through for England.
Its our best squad since '66 by miles.
