He list its location in Glasgow/Warrington then says it's in London.
Also do you get the rest of the car for free?

i think that guy has advertised the engine over on RS246.com as well.

Curiously, he says he's bought an RS4 engine as a replacement for it, but also says that this outstrips his RS4 engine. Whilst i can see he presumably now wants to tune the RS4 engine up well beyond the 380bhp mark, why not just do it with this engine if its so good?

anyone know where the specific benefits of the RS4 over S4 engine lie?? I (in my stupidity I guess) had always assumed they were basically the same engine, just with bigger turbos and a few extra bells and whistles on the RS4....

      I'm intrigued.....

He has replaced the S4 engine with an RS4 engine and I believe his turbos were not long fitted. If you come across an RS4 engine, you buy it, even if you have just fitted KO4s!

There is a big differnece in an S4 and and RS4 engine. You can spend LOTS of money getting an S4 engine upto a tuned RS4 power levels. With a proper remap on that engine and a better than stock exhaust you will get over 400bhp

We know him, and he is a top bloke - and his car is faaaaaaaast - and he spends the cash on it so it will be a good engine! I think he lives in Glasgow but the garage that did the transplant is in London, hence the locations.

RS4 has strengthened block, bigger port heads, different cams, bigger throttle body, bigger intake piping, bigger ICs, etc, etc, etc.

                  cool, thanks guys!

i knew RS4 engines were very rare (for obvious reasons), but never knew what the real differences were. On a similar tack, what about the 2.7TT engine in the A6s (not sure if its still there or not, but used to be anyway). Is that very similar to the S4 engine, but just with more of an emphasis on more comfort than grunt or something? IIRC it "only" turned out 230ish bhp in the A6 whilst the S4 was 265bhp, right?

                  cheers,

                  Tim

I think it is only the intake cams and possibly the downpipes/exhaust that are different on the A6 compared to the S4.
