    Loss of a Legend

...and I'm not talking about George Best - I think he's a bit before my time

Was saddened to arrive at work, flick on the news and see the announcement of the death of Richard Burns. Quite a shock as I thought he'd made a recovery from brain cancer and was looking forward to his return to rally racing. So this is just a tribute to a top guy; one of the few remaining 'gentlemen' in the racing world.

That's devastating news. I thought he was on the mend too. Such a great driver and always seemed like a nice bloke too.

That's very very sad news. The loss of Englands only WRC champion. A friend of my girlfriend knew him, but this is the first I've heard of this terrible news. I really hoped he had a chance of recovering, even if the odds were against him.

what a sad week this has been. First george best then Mr Miagie and now Richard Burns

Richard Burns was an outstanding driver and a genuing guy. My thoughts go out to his friends and family.

RIP Richard. You will be missed by all

Yes, totally agree: loss of a fine driver, much too young (and not through any fault of his own).

He was indeed on the mend but had recently deteriorated. Nevertheless it still came as a shock when I found out he had died.

It's not better than sex, but it runs it a close second.
