Mind you, with all the mods that most S2s are carrying now, they're likely to be a bit of a handful in the snow - all the cars with lowered, stiffened suspensions , huge wheels and massive low-profile ultra sticky slick summer tyres and massive torque outputs does not make for a calm and easy drive in the snow, regardless of quattro or not!

Yep! I had the worst drive of my life in my S2 just after I had bought it. Barely legal 245/40's 300lbft of torque on slush that had turned rapidly to ICE and the evening chill set in. Took me 2 hours to do a half hour journey with most people able to overtake my slithering and sliding S2! Quattro was no use at all in those circumstances....

My S2 will be staying firmly in the garage on days like that.

yup go there every year for some snow fun.

Lat year when woodshead had a foot of snow i went down one of the daring roads near the buttie van, the road is 300m long. took me 30 seconds to get down it, 3 hours to get back up.

Winter tyres are the way forward in, eer, winter

Worst drive of my life in the snow was in Austria on a freezing December morning at 5am, 6" of fresh snow overnight with my old 80Sport and a set of Yokohama A520s, no winter tyres and no snow chains (the things you do eh) - couldn't go more than 15mph without losing all grip, and going up hills was almost impossible. Took me 2 hours to drive 30miles. Totally dodgy of course, and really rather scary, especially with all the trucks on their chains batting around at 80kph!

we got about 10cm on friday and another 3 or 4 on saturday...but it's going to be 9 later today and over 10 the next coupla days with lots of rain

did many a donut saturday and yesterday tho and i'm gettin pretty good at hangin the *** out can't wait to get a proper snowfall tho. there are lots of big parking lots to play in around here :mischeif:

will definitly try and get some vids when that happens

Have snow here in stoke on trent. Some places worse than others.
Used the switch thing to get out of work, seemed ok driving home on main roads, just slushy a bit.
But my street is now going to ICE

Wonder what tomorrow will bring, gotta get out of the estate, probably floating on ice
