I have TomTom Nav 5 on my ipaq, it is top stuff. Apparently the latest version is even better!

It might not be a 5 pot or an S2... but at least I have a 20v Turbo in my life again.Comment

I got a road angel 600 cause it was on offer. I have had no trouble with the sat nav getting me to where I want to go, and the info screen seems clear to follow. I update the safety cam data base each week and it has warned me every time so far. I like the GPS calculated speed readout as it shows the speedo error is greater then I expected, so can now go quicker past the cameras. Down side is no laser detector and a warning at every "live" mobile site even if its not in use (slowed down for no reason). Its not got any frills or gismos, just sat nav and camera sites, but I don't drive for a profession and it does all I need.Comment

My tuppenth worth (for what it's worth!).
Sat Navs are a waste of money!
My drivers do anything between 15000 and 20000 miles a week on the road.
The ones who get around the quickest are the ones who don't use Sat Navs!
The only time they are of any use is when we a delivering/collecting a car to a private address on a housing estate.
People become to reliant on them. More people are using the ones that locate jams and redirect them. Only problem is that leads to more jams!
Can't beat an A-Z and knowledge of back roads!
For example, (and this happens regularly).
If I have a driver taking a car from say Worcester/Cheltenham/Gloucester into the Storage depot at Long Marston (Stratford), I will guarantee you, the drivers that know the roads and back roads will be there 10 minutes before the ones who use a Sat Nav. EVERYTIME!!

must admit I have to agree with this in part. Got tom tom on my pda but it kept crashing, found my way to destinations fine without it and last night my mate used his to find a footie club and ended up about a mile from where it was because tom tom didnt recognise the postcode properlyGreg

I agree. If you have local knowledge, then SatNav can't match it.
But if you are planning a long trip and have a memory like mine, it does save a lot of time and hassel of having to stop and have another look at the map, especially when you end up miles off track because you made a wrong turn.
I still end up guiding my TomTom quite a lot. I find I don't agree with it when I ask it to go point to point via the fastest route. I much prefer blasting across country routes than getting held up on the motorway. Some of you will know from me leading convoys, that I'm more at home on back lanes than A roads.
I'm not very good at navigating through towns or cities either, so I find TomTom great for finding addresses.

People forget sat nav are tools, they are not to be followed blindly, i always review the routes before i got out and tailor the route to my needs.
It's the people who blindly follow them without checking the route before hand that give sat nav bad names.
I couldn't be without mine, it's great and saves me having to print of reems of paper from mapquest.Comment

I just bought a navman f20, seems to be about middle of the range, has everything you need (except bluetooth) - speed cameras, redlight camera, shops, restraunts, atms, plus there is two dedicated buttons for petrol stations and car parks. I Rate it!Rich aka s2munckton

I'm using tomtom mobile on my p910i
Works great. It uses a bluetooth gps device. It sometinmes looses sattelites but only in tunnels. Not in citys between high-rise...Comment
