No dumpvalve in that car,not that ive seen at least hehe. I have had the great pleasure to ride along in that same car on a ice-track meeting. The S1 was running on studded ice-tires.....i will never forget that ride ever. Luckily i have alot of rare footage dvd`s and vhs movies in my collectionOriginally posted by FloppyINDEED ! All of them are from good ole` Group B days......im a Group B-fan though i was only like 10 years at the time Group B was announced back in the mid 80`s

Ahh what a noise, especially that high pitched "didadaaaa" of the realeased pressure! Heard a racing S2 on google.video, had the same sounding dumpvalve- is that common to the turbo it uses? Most other cars just make a "Tishhhhhh" noise.

Just read S4-sedan's post... What is that noise then!!! surely it cant be anything else but the realease of some kind of pressure from the turbo coz its everytime he eases off the throttle!

It did have one, was stoneage though if you notice on an S1 there appears to be 2 wastegates one works in the normal way that we are used to, the other lets air into the em which helps ignite unburnt fuel and spins the turbo thats why it spits flames more than the others
