OK - who's going to be first?

I've seen Lambo doors before, but they've never opened this far up.

    Quite cool I think

Those doors are extremely heavy, i wonder how long they will work for before they start to go weak and drop!

Ive never decided if i like them or not tho, i think on the right car they can look ok, a guy i know has them on his Schnitzer 3 series BMW (E46) and it looks the dogs, but on an Audi Coupe, no.

I've seen those hinges before, very heavy duty, supported by quite a substantial hydraulic ram too. Underground carparks/garages might be a problem though?

                Hell no!

I was looking for lamborghini's web site and searched for Lambo. The first result had Audi 80 in the description so I had to have a look - as you do.

Would never do that myself - not least because I couldn't open the doors fully in my garage!
                  Ck.
Shocked, exhausted, hosed, bushed, dumped, chipped, mounted, filtered, gauged, packed, intermittantly wiped and braked. I mean broken. Now, about the car...

i think it'd look pretty bloody daft when the roof of the car was down! No need to duck to get into the car..... oh yes there is because there's a door in the way of my head.

                      Totally pointless.

Doors are there to get in and out of. When they're shut they still look the same.

I saw (eyesore?) a Civic with "Lambo style" doors a few weeks ago - you still had to partially open the doors normally before lifting them, the same will be true with these doors because the split line won't suit the direction the doors are moving. That makes them even worse!

We ran butterfly style doors on the LMGTP cars, for good reasons. Mainly because of (1) the need for doors that won't get ripped off at 220mph, and (2) the narrow cockpit and wide body prevent normal hinging anyway - so the doors were hinged at two spherical points, one at the lower outboard end and the other at the upper inboard end, both in the forward corners.

Doors that open like this on a car like the one above are for no good reason at all. Even Lamborghinis don't really need them, the shape of the car isn't one which necessitates unusual hinging. They're nearly as bad as the Cack Shower crowd!
