    Ebay Warning

My brother placed his BMW on ebay about 2 weeks ago but it didn’t reach the reserve price he was after. He has now decided to keep the car.

The thing is that he was looking through the BMW’s for sale on ebay and came across his own car up for sale again. He didn’t put it there.

What seems to have happened is that someone in Bristol has copied and pasted his entire article and relisted it as there own.

My brother was fuming and has contacted the seller who just happened to start his account on ebay on 9th December so has no feedback. He has also contacted everyone who has placed a bid on the car to let them know that the chap does not own the car that he is selling. Ebay have also been contacted.

Luckily my brother blanked the registration number of the car.

Just thought I would post this on the forum just to get people who have listed items to check to see a few weeks later if someone is trying to sell your item again.

We have tried to think why someone would have done this and the only thing we could think of was that the person would probably have wanted a deposit sent through their Paypal account prior to seeing the vehicle.

They're pretty stupid if the deposit is placed bia paypal as the transaction can be used in criminal proceedings. Thats why they always want Money transfers like western union and others.

I avoid auctions that dont use paypal unless it's COC.

Seen this type of thing before - dead give away for a particular item was the same picture (complete with wine stain on the carpet behind the item) being used, by a different seller, for an item already sold (genuinely - to me). Wasn't a stock eBay picture, which I always tend to avoid anyway - I want to see the exact item... not what eBay think it might look like in perfect condition.

        Ck.
Shocked, exhausted, hosed, bushed, dumped, chipped, mounted, filtered, gauged, packed, intermittantly wiped and braked. I mean broken. Now, about the car...
