The CAT entry last year was a v10 based on the vw tourag v10. Must want a go at it themselves.

It's seems I'm the only one in the world for whom it is sad news. Maybe I'm too much italian/jap car fan , but I don't like diesels and low revving motors. V12@9000rpm is the real thing ... Those who like audi S1 screaming sound will understand what I'm talking about. For that I love 20v i5. OK, it's not a superbike, but it's still revving.

Low rpm grunt is for tow trucks and "domestic" <censored>.

Sorry for being radical, but I'm so disappointed .

I love a big rpm petrol engine as much as the next guy, but from a sheer technology point of view I cannot fail to be impressed by how Diesel technology has moved on. To think that so much torque can be generated at 3000-5000 is just amazing... and that they have somehow harnessed that torque in the transmission to the rear wheels is equally amazing. Sure it will sound different, but I'm betting it sounds pretty funky.

i posted this on the local board and someone wrote this in reply. thought it was too funny. parodies this: http://www.4q.cc/chuck/

They forgot to mention that they will only be stopping to change drivers, and will not be fueling at all during the race. Changing drivers was a last minute logistical problem as originally Audi had planned to go with Chuck Norris, who requires no sleep, or bathroom breaks, and can actually use his internal organs to convert excrament into bio-diesel.
