    Water has got in ??

Hi, just wondering if S2 doors are common for water leaking in.

I noticed the bottom of my pants were wet after driving, so i check the foot well.
    its wet.
Could it be that i've been parking it on my drive & its on a slope, as normally
park it on flat ground (and had some heavy rain)

Never noticed any holes in the floor or sills, as when cats got took off,
    it was looked at

    Cheers
    Tina

    Tina:

You need to ensure that both the underhood drains (by the cowl/firewall - alongside the hood hinges ) and the sunroof drains are clear... Easiest way to do this is with pressurized air from an air compressor

This could be a common problem as my girl friend got wet pants but she was in the
      back seat

one of them what blows your tyres up ?

Managed to soak the water up, (passenger well is dry)

This could be the answer to why my window's steam up

Hi Tina, the coupe has bad door seals and they leak very well. I suggest havinga look at the thread I will post shortly. If there is a meet one ot eh members or myself would be happy to show you where the water gets in

                    Thanks, much appreciated.

Also may explain the dampness in the boot, as use the bit where the spare should
sit to put shopping in, (beats it rolling around the boot )
and the other week shopping bags felt damp, but thought now't of it.

The heater matrix tend to leak into the passenger footwell (BTDT - 5 hours to swap it out )

There is also another route in for the water......At the bottom of the windscreen, there is a rubber seal with a lip. The lip should go over the plastic sheath which hides the wiper gubbins. It is common for this lip to get tucked under this plaster sheath, when it is removed and replaced (such as when changing the pollen filter) and that allows water to run off the windscreen and down into the car (usually via the pollen filter funnily enough) and again, this is usually the passenger side.

                      Hope my drivel helps

                      Cheers n

Another common failure is the rubber grommet where the hood release cable goes through. On the LHD driven cars at least.... don't know actually about the RHD's

When you pop the hood it sits on the far upper right -> for (LHD) left -> for (RHD) corner. There it goes under the dash.

That's the one next to the fusebox on RHD cars, right up in the corner. I had that one missing on my car, after an alarm fitter decided to get rid of it. If I parked the car on a slope (most of the time around here) water would pour in to the driver's footwell.

Now I've got a real weird image in my head, since with an Aussie influence, thong means sandal or flip-flop style footwear

The coupe is legendary for having a leaking boot - water gets in to the boot through the rear light cluster seals and you end up with a nice wet carpet, a constantly steaming-up car, water in the lights and eventually corrosion in the electrics for the rear lights...
