    Plastic tray under engine

Hi, am just after opinions on this tray.
I have a brand new one & just wondering if it should be fitted,
as noticed its got air scoops ?

If its better fitted, anyone know what size bolts is needed.
    Cheers

You can get a new set of fixing gear, Don't know how much it costs though, think vagparts sell one?? not sure.
Mines on with cable ties same as Mark.
Three to hold on the rear, and used one on either side in the wheel arch at the bottom that joins it to the wheel arch liner. The stud that pokes through at the top I've put a plastic nut on it.
No need to drill anymore holes. the front uses no fixings where it slots into rear of the bumper.
I had a broken one on after the crash, not good as it decided to come off at 140mph+

Mine's fixed on with cable ties too - the ties loop through the holes where the studs should have fixed to... Definitely worth having it in place as mentioned above

Is the stock one identical to the one used with RS2 bumper? I have RS2 bumper and there are lots of proper fasteners holding Kitty together nicely. Cable ties will look soooo gash, get it done properly!!!

RS2 undertray is different, Graham (tekkno435) has been looking for one for ages
                  Damned expensive new too
Who's going to look under the car to see three cable ties at the back and two in the wheel arches

I bought the fitting kit for the undertray from VAGparts and its excellent.

Proper 1/4 turn fasteners and captive nuts that fit perfectly.

I would highly recommend it and it only takes 10mins to fit.

Just hope anyone that works on my car doesn't lose them. (Which would be difficult as they are all held in place on the undertray with the rubber washers supplied...)

                      Cheers,

never had one fitted, never had any probs running too hot or cold, only thing i have ever noticed is that the front end can get a little 'flighty' over 140mph
