If you want your engine to go a nice shade of brown take the tray off.

@Fourrings - so, Steve was right about the fitting kit ...what about me then? Am I still coo-coo for poo-pooing ty-raps?!!!! I am a wronged man!!!

@Chris - run with the undertray - there are definite advantages to having it, it wasn't put there for decoration - as Fourrings said, you can't see it where it is!!

              Lol! Apology accepted!!

Hey I work in the race car business (still, sort-of) and ty-raps are frowned upon except for securing cables and pipes!

(...and maybe for emergency repairs too!!)

If there is a proper way of doing it, that's the way it gets done.

              Usually.

...but yeah, ty-raps will do the job!!

Yeah, that'll be the result of air getting turbulent as it catches on the uneven surfaces no longer covered by the tray - it would probably manifest itself as increased fuel consumption and lower top speeds too, but whether either is massively affected I can't be sure. I'd keep the tray.

Not sure about stock S2, but the tray I have got also has the vestiges of a Naca duct on each side at the trailing edge - though they do not extend into a set of ducts for anything in particular. Maybe these can be used for brake cooling if the tray has a further extension attached, I don't know.

The "correctly installed" undertray also keeps my nice and shiney engine bay, errr shiney!

My 3b engine tray has got a couple of duct exits cut in to it, presumably to aid air flow exit from hot bits of the engine?
