Newbie- thoughts on S2, RS2, original quattro, 2.6 coupe

Hi guys, new to this board. I'm a major car fanatic am interested in getting into an Audi. Love the shape of the coupe. Saw a few on pistonhead classifieds and also a very nice looking 94 2.6 coupe. I don't know much about these cars yet. Also am considering a RS2 but it is twice the price. Or an original 86 Quattro.

What's the major difference between S2 and 2.6 coupe? With the V6 I assume the coupe would have decent torque and power.

How about between S2 and RS2?

Which one would you guys go with?

    Thanks for input.

HPMuirt ( Si ) is the man to answer this one, he owned a V6 coupe for years before buying an S2...

But what is sure is that a V6 has torque but when compared to a turbocharged I5, the V6's torque is lower and will only max at +- 4000 - 4500 rpm.
An S2 has full torque by 3000 !:mischeif:

I used to drive a BMW V8 and after buying an S2, I can tell you that the Audi I5 is an awesome engine, plus it's just begging to be tuned...

I'm inching toward an S2 cause it's much cheaper than rs2 and appears to be a more nimbler handler. Although I am attracted to original quattro also. Any line on a decent s2 for sale?

I used to own a 00 S4, it was an amazing car.

The prices I seen so far are about:

              S2-GBP3000-6000
              RS2-11,000-13000
              Ur Quattro-7,000-9,000
              2.6 Coupe- 2500-3500

              IS that about right?

It seems like the S2 is great value for money compared to the others. Is it fair to say you get at least 80% ofr the performance for less than half the cost of the others?
