Yep thats the same as our 93 S4 or ur-S4 its better known as, engine is AAN, in a nut shell its an ABY with a different intake manifold due to all that extra space under the bonnet, 6speed box is the same too, same power etc etc

Suspension is all different, same as 100q but slightly beefed up with wider track, bigger wheels, wider front arches, and the Audi V8 inside out front disk brakes. Production of them was rather interesting, they all left the Audi factory as a V6 100Q and were then taken apart again and rebuilt into the S with the 5cyl turbo installed, have an article about them somewhere, basically hand built by Quatto gmbh. UK sales was pathetic, were talking 50 each year.

How does this car differ from a 1990 Audi Turbo?

Are you thinking of the 200 Quattro Turbo, the S4 replaced it, and then became an S6 a year or two later when the Audi A4 came out.

This is the original Audi 100 S4 saloon, and my one, as an Audi UK car, had a very high specification indeed. I had the car for 6 years and clocked up 120000 miles in it whilst maintaining a full Audi service history - and 26mpg!
Only had two problems: 1) the front discs kept warping; eventual cure was to fit redesigned discs from original S6; 2) it started to fill up with water, appearing in rear footwells first, and you could hear it sloshing through the sills!. Turned out to be because of blocked front bulkhead drainage channels.
In both cases, because of FASH, VAG picked up the bills - and the disc conversion was very expensive....and for those ( not necessarily on this Forum ) who seem to delight in knocking Wayside Milton Keynes, it was down to Richard and Carl
Incidentally, rear heated screen with "quattro" script is no longer available.
So if anyone knows the whereabouts now of J209MVV, let me know...

That looked like a nice car!! Its weird to see a rhd S4 saloon since im used to lhd myself. The S4 is the "family racer" compared to the "sportscar" S2.

He has set a reserve at £2800, hahahahaha never in a million years. I bought an urS4 that was perfect for £1650. It has non standard aircon which is a big no (in my book), it also has UFO brakes fitted which I find to be the worst Audi brake setup ever invented.
Judging by how the handbrake is set the rear brakes have never been adjusted in their life.
He states that on a smooth surface it is like a go kart? As it has been lowered it has not had the camber adjusted correctly. It has 3 new tyres? or am I the only one who replaces a full set at a time?
My advice is buy the best you can afford and take someone with you who knows these cars.

Don't get me wrong I think these are wonderful cars, I loved my S4 to bits and I love my S6 Avant even more especially after the suspension had been rebuilt.

Oh and the brake light on the dash is probably because the bulb has blown or his front brake pad wear indicator wires are not connected.

One good thing though with the S4 is that it is very easy to wire up the engine check light to read out fault codes from the ecu. The light holder in the dash does not exist and needs the holder from the earlier MC engined 100 but the loom and light fixture are strapped neatly behind the dash.
I have the complete instructions should anyone want/need them?
