    value for money

After christmas, finances are always stretched.
So this month, my spending required a choice to be made.

Option A would allow the car to run smoother at low revs and possibly increase MPG from an iffy 19mpg to a more steady 22mpg (esitmate). This would cost me £300.

    Option B would get me a realistic 40 - 47mpg. This would cost £450.

A difficult choice to make, but we went for B.
So far very happy. Just wondering if others found the S2 difficult to justify sometimes.....?

    OPTION A

    OPTION B

I know exactly where you are coming from.Nice to see it is not only me who thinks the fuel economy is not excellent on the S2's.

I have to travel 50 miles to and from work and it costs me a fortune in the S2. I have even had to use my wifes Polo 16v to save a bit of money.

The only problem I have now is that I have changed jobs and they now want me to cover a larger area meaning I will have to sell the S2 and buy something more economical.

I think I will go for a VW Golf MK4 GT TDI 150 so at least it will have a bit of get up and go.

I opted for option B as we have a very thirsty RS2 which my wife uses to go to work daily, so me being frugal, went out and bought a 1995 Audi 80TDi taxed and tested for 500 notes, only trouble is, she'd rather drive the RS2 and pay the 3 times bigger fuel bill and buy less clothes and shoes!!!!

You don't really buy an S2 if you want a bit of fuel economy. I seriously don't mind sticking the juice in mine.
I gain more in SPM (smiles per mile) rather than MPG.

@ Mak, shocked. Hate to see your car go mate
