    water system flush

Has anyone found a good way to clean out their water system. In the past someone has mixed the dreaded 2 fluids to create that lovely brown, rusty mess everywhere. I know the res tank will be stained for good now but want the system clean before I replace it. Any BTDT's or Recommends?

Probably best off with a hose. I did mine by removing the top hose, thermostat and a heater hose (or both). Flushing and back-flushing through the block and heater matrix (and rad) until clear water has flowed through for a few mins.
Carefull use of a pressure washer can be effective at flushing the system too, though best off with the hose really.
You could try refilling the system with water alone, running it for a couple of minutes or so before draining it and replacing it with the proper coolant mix.

If you want to use a rad flush product then make sure its a liquid one and not a granule based product. I spent ages getting it the little bits out of the system!

And if you didn't consider it already use some nice De-Ionised/Distilled water with your G12+. (halfords amoungst others sell it).

Water alone wont remove it, the dam stuff is like mud/cement, its everwhere and needs something to remove it from the walls of everywhere - horrid stuff

My local Tescos sells it too.

Apparantly some people use it in steam irons, whatever they are.

        Cheers
