...is the S2 market dropping!!....after seeing "baldy's" mates car on for such, what seemed to be, a bargain won't this have a knock on effect for all s2 prices??...or is this just someone who is desperate to sell...I wonder......
I certainly think they are or have become more of an aquired taste so to speak, its certainly got to be something you'd want specifically, but it lacks the desire of the Original Quattro's, i dont think its even been as iconic and probably wont be, but hopefully, as they are all well loaded cars they wont fall in price too much.
They are quite expensive cars to run as well tho.

Used car prices are in freefall across the board to be honest - the floods of nearly new cars hitting the market is killing value for all 2nd hand cars, and 14 year old cranky gas guzzlers aren't really going to be that appealing to the general public - it's the enthusiasts' market that will keep the price up...

Totally agree - There's been some good Ur's either unsold or sold very cheaply too recently, and a 5 year old B5 S4 Avant with average mileage is barely scraping over 10k now. - That's a big hit. And as for RS6 saloons.. - They're out there cheaper than B5 - RS4's.

HOWEVER, I'd have lost much more on a Mundano ST24/200 or Vectra GSi 24v so keeps me smiling, even if running costs are stupid and parts relatively expensive as I refuse to go pattern. How many other cars can you get with the grip, power and performance of an S2 for £5k or less?! "Always look on the bright side of life... (insert whistles)..."

On mobile.de, Coupe and Avant prices have dropped mostly because finding a well maintained S2 with less than 150000km is getting increasingly rare now so those cars have depreciated pretty much... But on the other hand, I've noticed that the wanted price for a "low mileaged", well kept after S2's has actually raised which shows that the enthusiast market is there just waiting to pounce on a clean one that pops up from time to time...
RS2 prices have fell as well, there's one for sale at 15000 Euros with 180000km on the clock in Belgium right now. Low mileaged RS2's are still selling for 19000-20000 euros...
I'd buy a S2 with 140k+ on it. My old S2 with 130K+ was as strong as ever. Martin js' car has over 200k on it and it has the RS2 setup. Besides if i got another id probably strip the engine and put in some goodies .....
I think everyone is taking what Midnight said personally. All he meant was that the lower mileage examples will sell first or at a higher premium, naturally.

I understand what Midnight is saying, but;
Mileage in no-way represents condition. More fool the buyer for hanging out for a car solely on mileage alone.
My car has now got 130k on it. I've had no troubles with it what so ever, yet my bro's 95 S2 coupe (2 months younger than mine) has 60k on it and he's had nothing but trouble. It's currently sat on his drive waiting for a power output stage now.
I didn't hesitate buying mine with 110+k miles on it.

yeah miles mean little, i'm pretty sure with the exception of the turbo having some play in the shaft mine is much better than the condition it was in when i bought it almost 6 years ago and she's about to reach 170k miles (bought at 75k)
