I have to agree, the car looks perfect as it is and i wouldnt change it.
I may be tempted to darken the middles a bit and polish the lip but as you said this cant be done then i'd leave them as they are!

I had my wheels refurbished back to original a while ago at Diamond Styling in NW London at about £80 a corner. I think they said they used a BMW alpine silver paint for all their porsche wheels.

I managed to curb one of the wheel a week later.

Incidently shortly after I had the wheels permagaurded along with the rest of the car, which makes the wheels far easier to clean than ever before. The permagaurd system bonds a impermuable clear gloss finish onto the paint which dirt has trouble gripping on to and therefore makes it easier to clean. Apparently using wheel wax just traps the dirt into the wax when the wax on the wheels (and car) warms up.

Centres the same colour as the car with silver rims. Or all silver.

White wheels have to look like rally wheels IMHO (as per (R)S4 above), anthracite and blue wouldn't be a good a silver and blue.

Or swap them for some 3 spoke Ricer rims with black centres and then red/yellow rims on alternate corners... Then get some Fast Furious graphics and a 10" can on the back...

Well, Alex picked up her rims from Lap Tab today and they look the ******!
In the end, she decided on the colour when she saw some of the other rims and completely ignored what I said!
She's had them done in smoked chrome and the inners black. I was a bit sceptical about her choice when she told me, but on seeing them, they look superb!
I'm going to keep them off the car until we take her to Ultimate dubs next month cos I can't be arsed to clean them again, but will post pics up soon as!
