I get Valvoline fully synth 5w50. Inexpensive compared to SLX or Mobil 1 and comes in 5 litre bottles! (It's the small things that count!)

I've used the 10W-50 Pro-S for the last couple of changes on mine (90K miles, standard) and recommend it. Cold start, hot run, oil consumption (or lack of it!) and oil temps all excellent!
I intend to keep using it.

Olive oil for general cooking, drizzling and frying, good old butter for roasting unless I'm feeling distinctly indulgent when I'll reel out some goose fat to give a right good basting on my spuds, oh yes.

ANyone ever used Greased lightning in an engine???? Tis an oil additive from down under. My mates have used it in a few cars and they have all given it glowing repots. None have yet used it in aturbo engine though........
                        Any thoughts?

I personally would never use any oil additive in a turbo engine.
Just a top quality engine oil, changed regulary, is all you ever need!

I used VAG's Synta Black ( the semi synthetic ) in my 1991 S4 for 120000 miles without any engine wear or oil consumption issues whatsoever...and it was sensibly priced too.
I also used it in an old 911 turbo, and these engines and turbochargers are notoriously fussy about oil.

I've been using Castrol RS and Millers 10W60 since i've owned the car.

Just ordered some Silkolene 10w50 Pro-S and will change the oil probably at the garage meeting or just before.
