Saw this last week:

Think this 16v VW engine was at just over 1000bhp at 10,000rpm when it went bang!!!

The rods look in perfect nic. Must be a good advert for them.

DAMN !! Never seen a VAG block like that before........some serious power in that engine it seems. Got some specs of that engine ?? Looks like its very serious built with dry sump and so on.

Could the engine pictured in the first post be from this project in Greece ??? Ive read about this before............he is/was running with a Turbonetics T76 and then he upgraded to a Turbonetics Y2K turbo

it would have been cheaper if his rods had given way .might not have done this much damage to the rest of the engine.

This thread is well worth a read, check out the turbo set ups they use in tractor pulling, they use up to 4 turbos to boost the stock tractor from 160bhp to over 2000bhp!! to do this they use up to 270psi boost
