    Windshields for S2's & CQ's????

Here in the States the realization & horror is just hitting the owners of said cars that replacement windshields are nil! The ones here that are available are seconds and rejects. OEM's that can be found, if at all by the USA dealer network are more than 10 years old and may be suffering delamination cost $600 alone. This is without the trim some hamfisted glass technician will almost always break when removing the old glass!!!
The guys who have converted their CQ's to S2 specs have just been faced with that realization this morning! Guess it slipped their mind. It did mine...until today.
Anybody know if Martyn & the boys at VAG sell windshields and trim? Can't seem to get a hold of the lads. Be nice if they sold replacement kits.

Dealer price in the UK is £212 for a front screen.
The trim for the 4 edges (top, sides and bottom) are £31 each!

so you'd be looking at about £340 from the UK plus shipping, so no cheaper than the US by the looks of it.

S2Ant "so no cheaper than the US" ...one problem!

We have NO SUPPLY OF GLASS! The windshields for these cars in the USA are listed by the dealers as "NLA > No Longer Available".

I don't understand the huge fuss over these windscreens here in the USA. We bought two over the summer made by PPG for $275.
I paid more than that for PPG glass on my B4 after I hit a deer and needed a replacement the next day.

Joe, as of 3 months ago there none too be had!

At least in the States for CQ's. Plenty for 90 sedans, but not my CQ. Those that I found were as I've stated, seconds & rejects. The dealer is telling me NLA. PPG has told me as of the dated noted they have none available, period. Somebody on the 20V Rennlist he had too FORCE his dealer to get one from Europe! And it wasn't cheap he says.
