im thinking of putting a 7a in my coupe at the moment. i enquired locally for a reprofilling a pair of cams for a red top vauxhall engine and got quoted £190 for the pair so i guess 7a will be slightly more prob around £220.

NM is 2.0 20v and 7A is basically the same but 2.3. NM puts out 160hp and 7A 174. The main difference is the cams..
Compute that.

i thought the 7a was 164hp and early 7a were 170hp correct me if i am wrong seen it somewhere on the net , heard of the nm cant understand how the 2 litre is 160hp and the 7a 2.3 does't produce as much hp than nm ?

Ah you're correct. I mixed the hp figures with the V6. 170hp with the tubular EM and 164 with the cast one.

Anyway there's something magic in the NM cams. Must be.
