    Loud hissing sound near ECU

    Hi everyone,

OK this is a thread for my friend Philippe who doesn't speak english.

His 1993 S2 Avant has developed a loud hissing sound on full boost and it's hissing from near the ECU but all the hoses he can see and the T shaped piece for his boost gauge aren't leaking, or so he thinks as he can't really drive while having his head down in the footwell

It also seems he says, that the hissing sound is also coming out from the passenger side vents ( remember, this is a LHD S2 )...

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

    Thanx for him !

Check the vacuum lines running to the 'recirc' flap control for the aircon. Its located near the ECU. That line should never see boost of course, but maybe the system has been messed with.

Also - check the vacuum line running from the ECU towards the moisture trap located behind trim at the bottom of passenger side A-pillar. If that is cracked or any lines are damged then it will cause a leak easily heard in the cabin.
