It looks like the time has come for me to sell my S2.
I have changed jobs recently and the 50 mile round trip 6 days a week is costing me a fortune so I need to change to something more economical. I have tried and thought of every way in which I can stop myself from parting with my pride and joy but cannot find another way out of it.
I have considered buying a cheap runabout and leaving the S2 at home to be used only at the weekends and I have even used my wifes 1.9 TDI Polo for a few days a week to make the fuel last a bit longer in my car.
I also work for the youth offending service so I have to transport some of the worst 13-18 year olds in my area and I get worried when they see my car and start to ask questions about the bhp, 0-60 etc and then they say 'Nice radio' and 'what type of alarm does the car have'. One day I will come out and it will be gone or be damaged. I have had the boot lock done in recently as well.
The S2 is a beauty. She is a 1993 Coupe on a K plate with the ABY engine in metallic Indigo Blue. She has 146,000 on the clock but pulls and runs with no problems at all. The car has the black quattro trim, air con and cruise control.
I have owned the car for about 3 and a half years and probably like everyone on this forum I have spent a small fortune keeping the car in tip top condition so much so that she has a stack load of receipts that I can't bring myself to tally up.
The car is totally standard with original 5 spoke 16" avus wheels shod with Toyo Proxes.
The bodywork of the car has a few scratches on it but it gets washed every two days and polished every sunday depending on the weather. I had a very small accident in the snow where I hit the back of an astra van at 5 mph. This caused a slight crease on the bonnet, a crack on the bumper and a smashed headlight. I managed to purchase an Audi on ebay which was the exact colour of my car so the bonnet has now been replaced. The headlights have now both been changed to projectors. But it has left a crack on the bumper that is only noticed if you really look.
I am just trying to be as honest as possible so people know what they are getting.
I am unsure what to ask for price wise for the car so any ideas would be welcome so I don't over price it. Also I don't know how to place photos on the forum or I would let you all see what she looks like.
The car does look great and if I could show you some photos I would.
I am just away to drown my sorrows with a few cans as I never thought this day would ever come.
