So did I and when questions David Corfield said "if everyone said that we wouldn't have a magazine"
So I decided to put some faith in it because he was confident and I wanted a decent Audi Mag.
Again, I am more than happy to be proven wrong, as I will get to see all the magazines that I paid for, but at the moment it doesn't look good does it!

It is not a bad read, and technically reasonably good. However, it is fairly obvious that a few of the articles are shared with another US based publication and it also feels like you are following David Corfield on his own little Audi sightseeing trip. Also, some of the articles are just photos and words on David's own UR...Originally posted by s2driverukthis isn't looking good is it. fraid i held onto my money until it got established, looks like its a good way off that currently. TO be fair the layout and presentation is spot on, but it is a little thin and can be read in half an hour to 40 minutes.
I would still be happy if they communicated what is going on and kept the magazine as per the first three issues.
For a start up mag it isn't bad.
Cheers.

I deserve all the flak, but I'm not a conman! Although yet again the mag is delayed, it's about to get a whole lot better. And PLEASE, rather than use this forum to slag me off just give me a call! 07947 481563. As always, I'm only to happy to stand up and be counted. And regarding the comment about my 'own little sightseeing trip' this is because I never seem to get many articles sent in featuring other enthusiasts cars...Comment

Missing Total Audi Magazine!
I'd be interested to know what David has told you if any of you have rung him?
The truth is the magazine has no more money to produce a 4th issue, there is hope though in a potential investor who is looking at the TA project at the moment (so I understand from the guy (Simon) who backed this magazine in the first place).
I personally walked away from the magazine over 4 weeks ago due to being let down on a regular basis...and I'll leave my reasons at that.
Consumer publishing at the moment is one the most risky business anyone could venture into. 5 years ago you could approach wholesalers such as WH Smith's with a new publication and have no problem with distribution. Now they ask for a substantial sum of money to just place copy on their shelves. Although they are not the only outlet for magazines, WH Smiths are recognized as the first point of call for distributing a consumer title and can account to around 40% of most publications sales. Basically WH Smiths are looking to maximise profits and reduce wastage and do not want new titles from small independent publications as they pose a higher risk with their wastage target.
On a final note, I do hope the magazine does somehow make it, it does have the potential to be a great publication.....Perhaps what’s needed is a business strategy consultant...oh Si pleeeaaasseee step up to the plate!:mischeif:
Cheers

Interesting information, shame that we investors (I think you call us subscribers) have not been told that directly.Originally posted by tombsThe truth is the magazine has no more money to produce a 4th issue

Nice try, but I am afraid that I publically quoted that I thought this publication was doomed to failure. The S2 Forum has offered on numerous occasions to "get together" for a photoshoot or group article. I myself have offered to provide photo's or an article for the magazine too, but we have never had any positive response to our suggestions.Originally posted by mint10valverI deserve all the flak, but I'm not a conman! If you would like an article from us then just say so.
I am not sure really want a lot of disgruntled "investors" phoning you up asking where the magazine is? They could be a lot harsher than some of the comments here.
Any businessman with an ounce of sense would spend ten minutes posting a thread on his own Forum telling "investors" what is happening with the magazine rather than staying completely silent, and leaving us to speculate. Is it any wonder that we are all having a "discussion", (which to be honest has been fairly constructive) regarding the future of the magazine
If you had come to S2Forum and told us of your problems, perhaps we could have helped with couple of articles, photo's or even copy from some budding automotive journalists.
Unfortunately all we have had is empty promises.
Please let us know if we can help you at all. I would rather spend a few hours taking some photo's and writing a small piece than lose the remainder of my subs...
Still wishing you luck.

That’s why (although I now have nothing to do with the magazine and it should be those that actually work on it speaking here!) I have spoke up!
Not a promising advert for anyone considering investing real time, effort or money.
True, but its the truth, which is what you want to hear isn’t it, and I hardly think anyone with real funds to invest in the magazine is going to look at this forum or even be aware of it, or is the city permanently logged into the s2forum?

So let me get this straight you were being helpful by saying when the magazine first started out it was doomed to failure? Nice one, thanks! I think your wrong with your comments about readership and competition (Audi Driver?), it just purely the logistics of TA, lack of investment and funds and the change in operation of WH Smith's that have hampered the progression of TA. The Market is there and there isn’t really any competition.
When I am offered a refund I will consider my options
Well your subscription I am sure is welcome as is your devine knowledge in Business Startergy..

You'd have thought there was a few good ways to get people to subscribe to something like this with a little bit of inventiveness and basics like communications to those people who have stepped up and paid for a subscription is the best way to keep them on your side. I can't speak fro them as i haven't paid up...I wanted to see some feedback and i guess confirm that what is happeneing now wasn't going to but to be honest you really need to spend some time building some positive PR with your (shrinking) base before they all demand their money back.
An enthusiasts forum like this should be the place to be working your PR, a few offers to entice those on the fringe to take the plunge, i mean god knows twhat happens to all the mags that get run off and then go out of date - why not charge 99p to get hold of one or scan it up online/sell on ebay, put some in a dealership for free so people can get a flavour of the publication. Dare I ask if you were at the Audi/VW Day at Castle Combe last weekend?
I'm sure you are busting your *** to make the venture work but you need to bring some of that to the surface so that those people who have paid and those that yet may still can see something. Silence in this case most definately isn't golden I don't think....
Good luck
