The most ridiculous thing is that the circuit was there before the residents who are complaining.
Surely it must have crossed their minds when they bought a house near a racing circuit that it might be a little bit noisier than your average village
It's like buying a house next door to an fire station and then complaining that the fire engines are too noisy or a house next doot to a chip shop and then complaining that everything smells of chips.

From what I know there doesn't seem to be a problem round here with Mallory park.
Kirkby MAllory is right outside the gates aswell so they do get alot of noise.
Just annoying this, everyone seems to want to stop people having fun in cars and on bikes.Dark Grey Avant

Or a distribution centre: A previous employer took over a distribution site from the previous operators (this is going back a few years). Despite the warehouses having been on the same site since before 1920, the residents of the houses built in the last 10 years couldn't seem to equate "I moved next to a distribution site with existing planning permission for use as such" with "there will be lorries and noise coming in and out".Originally posted by s2avantIt's like buying a house next door to an fire station and then complaining that the fire engines are too noisy or a house next doot to a chip shop and then complaining that everything smells of chips.
When we took the site over, we actually reduced traffic and noise, restricted lorry hours to avoid rush/school times, landscaped large parts of the site, and - the crucial mistake - told the locals about these improvements. What we could have done, since the site already had all the permission and consent it needed, was just move in.
The protest made paper, TV and radio.
Side note: I have a friend who lives down fairly near to Castle Combe. His opinion is that a lot of the people down there are complete ****holes.
