    New A6 3.0TDI

Just been up against one of these on the way into work this morning. Damn they can pull!

I came up behind him on our private stretch of runway ( ) and as he saw me coming put his foot down.

I laughed and thought, whatever you've got I can more than match it!

Down goes the hammer and we are both off, I am up behind him a few car lengths back but not really gaining, it stays like that for 30 seconds, then just before we have to back off to let a plane land ( ) I take a look down to that we are doing over 140mph!

these diesels can shift these days. If you are going to take one on, make sure you put your foot down early!

    Audi A6 3.0TDI's

    Cheers,

    Steve

It was probably all those cleaning products you keep in your boot that slowed you down.

they are pretty quick with a really strong pull from 1200rpm upwards, they put out a lot of torque.

          225PS and 333ft/lb torque/450nm all available from 1450rpm apparently and a 0-60 time of 8.1 secs

see i'd have thought with all that slippery paint Steve you should have a drag co-eff of about 0 so you should have shot past him leaving a vortex

            Thanks Guys, (I think )

I *could* have had him, but he wouldn't get out of the way

@ Andy - its quick enough for me and the two Civic type R's on the A34 this morning!

@ Tim - Cleaning products are in the garage so that's no excuse!

@ Iain - yes they do have a lot of torque don't they!

@ David - Exactly, who needs and RS2 turbo when you have 17 layers of Meguiars topped off with P21s concours wax. Worth at LEAST 25 BHP!

            Cheers,

No, no, no no no no, no.

(Well actually I do!) But I am torn between keeping mine stockish (OEM+ ) and taking it to the next level.

The honest answer is I haven't go £3k to spend on it, and if you are going to tune it, you might as well tune it properly....

Secretly I really love my nearly standard S2. One day it will be a classic anyway....

                  Cheers,

                  Steve.
