I just went to get my car tax....and it was £190....

Knew it was going to change but nothing quite prepares you does it!?!

Worst thing was the reminder they sent me said £170!!!! Some one at the DVLA obviously has a sense of humour....and I'm going to find out where they live...

Please feel free to post your political tyrades below...i vented mine on the post office staff...

May as well include Phoney Blair... I mean, they do rule the country as a duo now, don't they?

Under these muppets, it's never been harder to be a decent, hard-working self-providing citizen. After periods of huge economic growth... I can't help but think that 20yrs ago, my fam lived in a 3-bed semi in a nice part of Cheltenham - mum worked part-time from home, dad had an average wage. Now, as an above-average earner for my age & living the single life, I could only dream of getting a mortgage for that same house. And then the bills + council tax...

So, instead I rent cheap and spend all my money on my S2.

The sooner these Labour muppets are booted out of power the better.

We as a motoring nation, pay the highest tax for our cars in terms of fuel and road tax

Why do you think so many people have left the country and so many want to, was talking on Monday to some friends from Cyprus, there council tax equivelant is £76 per year, water £25 per year (and no hose pipe ban), they can eat out for 4 people easily for under £20 for all 4!!!! and they get lovely weather, now where is my passport.....

How else is the Health Service paid for then? Stealth taxes - VAT and car taxation..etc, indirect or otherwise. Dear motoring or no NHS?

Thatcher got the ball rolling with increasing property prices... the present clowns in power just maintained the momentum..

Brown's been quite good to us in the last couple of budgets.
Last year he scrapped stamp duty the day before we bought our house saving us £800! This year my Fiance bought a new car and the tax on it is £50 for the year!
OK the tax on the Passat went up, but I can't complain too much.

yeah but surely the wages in Cyprus cant be compared to the UK,im in New Zealand at the moment and road tax is about 70 quid a year, renting is a lot cheaper than UK etcetc, but i will never come back home rich because the wages are not a shadow of whats available back home.
