    S2 - '95 - What's it worth ?

    hi guys

i'm thinking of selling my S2 sometime this summer. I've had the car nearly 2 years, and although it's a stunning performer and provides lots of "smiles to the mile", I unfortunately need something a little friendlier for a daily city commute, so its a diesel, small car for me !

its an avant May '95M, black leather, sunroof, aircon, only 91k genuine miles with full dealer history with all receipts. I am the 3rd owner. Colour is pearl white - love it or hate it - I would never consider a "white" car, but I'm a convert and think its nothing like white and its a spectacular and unique colour, shining white, champagne, silver, grey depending on the light.

Its currently running on Audi genuine 18" 9-spoke s-line alloys with a genuine Porsche "big brake" conversion, and "homefries". All service issues are recently sorted (ISV, DV, WGFV, boost leak, brake bomb, etc.).

It needs the aircon and sunroof repairing, but this will be done prior to sale.

I'm not trying to sell it here and now, but the questions I'm currently pondering are "what do you think its worth" and "should i sell it as is, or revert to std" ?

Also, the paintwork is close to immaculate, with the exception of stonechips to the bonnet - this will cost me 300 to have sorted - do you think I should, or sell it as is ?

    Any advice gladly received.

    cheers, Steve

PS, I will be sad to leave this helpful group of S2 owners and improvers. !!

Why didn't you post some pics before!!!!?? Its lovely : thumbs:

I would be tempted not to paint it, if the stone chips are really small. I expect they show up less on a white /grey / champagne / silver car less than they do on my dark car anyway. The pearl white is notoriously hard to blend and it might actually look worse with just the bonnet done?

Sounds to me like £5 - £6k's worth with the roof and aircon done. I tend to think the avant commands a slightly lower price than a similar coupe - but it might just be me!

My advice, and it looks like you have room Keep it in the garage and buy a cheap runaround, with the S2 for special occasions and weekends...

      Cheers,

      Steve.

Agree on the bonnet, it's difficult to match from what i heard years ago now due to the number of layers of paint audi used,

I used to sell these for smithfields in digbeth birmingham. £5-6000 would be on my shopping list if available as is.Used to like driving first on test drives just to blag a go and show customers how they handle.Remember that very distinct audi interior smell and the newness of the cars.
