BMW Producing Turbo Fuel Engine After 20 Years

    Hi,

i was reading today a car magazine here in germany and said that BMW will launch the new 3 Super Touring and the 3 Coupe with a New 3 Liter straight 6 Biturbo engine that will produce 306 PS!

It is funny thinking that the BMW motto 2 years ago was that you can not compress power!

    Funny isnt it??

Well of course the ironic thing is that the Audi engine guys got fed up with being accused of not being able to "build a proper engine" ie. without a blower, so they came out with the new RS4 V8 engine which I remember Clarkson saying was "one of the greatest engine of all time"? So Audi are moving away from Turbos at the same time as BMW are moving to them? Co-incidence? Probably not.

I knew I'd be switching back to BMW one day...
3 liter Bi-Turbo with AWD, you gotta admit it's tempting ! ( except, of course, for those who'd rather push a Skoda than be seen in a Bimmer ;-))

I always thought the move to turbos on alot of run of the mill cars was to meet EU regs on emissions?

I am hoping that Audi will also come back with Turbo engines again! Maybe An RS4-R! For the Audi R8 Production car they have announced in the Concept car a BiTurbo with 500 HP! Lets see!

BMW also stated that thy will Produce a V8 BiTurbo according to this article! Dont know if they are going to have AWD!

Bugatti Also announced a new Affordable car at 50000 Euros with a 2 Liter Turbo 280 and 320 BHP engine that will also be used in the S2! According to another magazine!
