I started off in October, saying that I was totally content with the car... and I was till I rode in Greg_S's car round castle coombe and since then knew I wanted to stiffen the ride and get a bit more torque! Since then the exhaust has been done, arbs, and now I have a new radiator I need to fit

I have a set of bilstein shocks, H&R springs, SPM rods, clutchnet clutch, rs2 injectors sat on my shelf... so much for "content" eh?

Your car already has a dump valve - more commonly known as a recirculating throttle bypass valve - but if you want a noisey dump to atmosphere blow off valve it will just make the car run like cr*p ! :An RS2 turbo will also require RS2 exhaust manifold, RS2 injectors, RS2 intercooler (not essential tho) and a remap.

      Hope this helps!

      Hi Paul,

I have a Turbosmart Supersonic Blow Off Valve fitted, its not to loud, car doesn't run like cr*p as you put it! Turbo & Boost - no issues, idles fine, 24 mpg average!

They're not the most popular choice on this forum but I have no problems at all.. personal opinion..

      Cheers

        Hi Chris

general consensus is that the air that has already been metered need to be recirculated as this can cause issues within the ECU. Didnt mean to offend tho mate - if yours runs fine thats spot on mate! Nee bother at all man (nice bit of Geordie! )

        cheers

Run crap might be an over exageration but everytime that valve is working it will be leaking air from the system which will then cause the car to run a bit richer (or rather have insufficient air to burn the fuel properly) i guess this will cause issues for the CATs, i dnt know how the Lambda probe will react to this richness or even if its able to or not as it wouldnt be for long lengths of time, but running rich will have other consequences like spark plugs will be affected etc

although s3 wheels won't fit the s4 and s6 do. I have s6 wheels on my car, the s4s need spacers though. I'm already planning the next upgrades on my car but I have too little time at the min

Nice bit of banter there fellas!

                Pics of my car.. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2359551

S3 wheels are 17s arn't they? But i thought the S4 wheels were 18s? or can u get 17s in them too? How come they dont fit at all? Surely the A3 has 5stud wheels, or isnt it as simple as that?!

Might not bother with the dump valve then, as I would only be wanting at as a novelty item, and my friend who used to have a GTiR kept saying that an Atm. dump valve would loose him power for the next gear. Guessing he meant that you loose pressure after each gear which isnt really ideal! Plus Its more of a subaru/evo thing than performance audi!

Another question... had a look at the battery, and noticed that theres a breather pipe thats suposed to connect to the battery, but no actual outlet on the battery! Theres a bit of moisture around the battery itself too, that can't be good!
Is this a problem? Wouldnt want to poision myself or my passengers! What battery do I need? Saw one in halfords for a 2.2 coupe -> '96 for £69.99... cheaper/better elsewhere?

The S3 wheels have a different Pitch Circle Diameter to the S2 which is 5 x 112. The earlier S4 wheels are 17s and the newer 18s, but they have an offset (ET) of 45mm, the S2 normally has 37mm. the S6 wheels are 35mm offset which is close enough.

As for battery the price sounds about right. The breather is to get rid of the fumes the battery can produce.
