    Stripping a cossie engine...effort!!

We're doing engine stripping in uni, and I opted for the cossie! Never seen so many bolts/nuts in hard to get places on an engine! The exhaust manifold is almost impossible to get off without concocting your own way of getting to the nuts! Huge cylinders though, really sturdy looking. Back in the workshop at 2 to strip it down further! Not looking forward to putting it back together again :s! Should have gone for the single cam rover engine or one of the old toyotas. Was having a laugh at someone doing a rover V8 as that was suprisingly complicated too!
How do the S2 engines compare? We didnt have to take them out of the cars they have all been mounted on little stands so they sit upright like a display engine!

looks super complex when you first start, once you have spent a few days stairing at it it somehow looks very simple

quite a satisfying feeling when you strip one down build it back up and it fires up first time

hope you get it backtogether ok!

Yeah, have to measure stuff on the crank and the cylinders (to look at how it wears etc). Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) we don't have to fire it up again! But i'll try not to do anything wrong anyway!
