S2 Avant

Hello there guys,

Just a quickie, with the change in circumstances happening around me at the moment I will quite possibly be changing the car due to having a dog (and he can't exactly get comfy in a coupe).

So my question to you guys is how much for a good estate, preferably audi and I would love it to be an S2 avant but may have to go for a diesel, I will hopefully have approx £4K to spend on it.

Any ideas or suggestions of what engine and model to go for.

(there are other plans in the pipeline to keep the shorty project going (get it started again) which this may form part of)

urS4 or S6 Avant!! Under 4k and I5 20v Turbo. Of course I may be a little biased. :mischeif:

If you really want a diesel then maybe consider the same shape A6 avant 2.5tdi with the 6 speed box and 140bhp (tunable to 180 I think!).

Cheers Merlin, are these in the price range though, usually they go for a bit more don't they???? (just what I have seen)

They are usually advertised for more but in reality they go for between £2-5k, dpending on condition, other than basic trim etc, there is really no difference between the S4 & S6, except the awful UFO's that where fitted to the very early S4's.

An S4/S6 avant is the way to go, you will pay less than an S2 version for basically the same thing, as Corey says avoid the early cars with the UFo discs they warp very easily and are bloody expensive to replace.

No, I never said avoid them just be aware of the UFO's anyway it would be cheaper to upgrade to mono's

That's a bit stupid, looked at the insurance prices on a 2.5tdi quattro and non quattro A4 avant. well let's just say they are about £250 more than I am paying on the MODIFIED coupe!!!! How the hell do they work it out

i was getting stupid quotes on my A4 quattro elephant quoted £1000 TPFF other were around the same

endid up getting a part time traders policy for the same money which covers all the cars i own TPFF and Fullly comp on other peoples upto the value of £13500

You want to get a full time one it covers you upto £150,000 value motors
