i weighed these before i put them on and EACH wheel(with tyre)is approx. 6KG up on the 6 spoke avus.on acceleration it's as though your brakes are stuck on or you've got two other feckers in the car.good at constant speed though and obviously a bit harder on the brakes,i can't take them off though, they look too damn good.this picture does not do my car any justice at all so feel free to rip the pi$$ not that it's in anywhere near good condition anyway.
If you have the wrong size tyres that may well account for the acceleration issues....

You make a good point here - increased rotational mass on the wheels will certainly have a negative impact on acceleration as there is more intertia to overcome when trying to spin the wheels. It's the same impact that you get when going from the tiny stock brake disc to some of the uber monster big discs that we're seeing crop up now - they do add mass which will impact on performance.
Adding 24kg to the weight of the car is not insignificant - that's more than you'd lose from the current forum fetish for removing the aircon
However, as Mr Concours says, if the rotational radius of your wheels is significantly larger than stock that will also not help - what size tyres do you have? Smaller wheel radius = faster acceleration

cheers guys, although i'd love some big brakes i think the wheels nearly pushed my marriage over the edge.
i can't make out the colour code on the paper tag in the boot.
they're all 205/40/18 although the picture makes the whole car look out of proportion as well as the wheels and tyres.
