Gerrard scored 20 goals at right mid this season, lampard plays alongside a holding midfielder week in and week out.
too many untouchable players and England can only play 442 or 352, we dont play a possesion game in this country and can't adapt to the single stirker system.
Wasted oppurtunity this as all the semi teams are European and england have beaten every single one of them.

I wouldn't put Ivory Coast in the same group as Angola and Ghana.
Ivory Coast have a great team but failed to really shine this world cup.
You are all right. I was perpared to put my faith in Sven, but he has let us down. Lampard and gerrad are too similar and should not play together. Lennon should have been used more. I still question Beckham's involvement, I think as captain he was hard to drop if you are sven.

England just could not ride their luck any longer. I geninely feel any one of us on here could have made a better stab at it. England seemed to lack urgency when in possesion, even when breaking the ball went forward and then straight back again. We have an abundance of pace in our team and we did not use it once.
I am so frustrated and angry that the best chance we could ever have in our lifetime to win the world cup has been wasted by sven and his lack of cutting edge.
I know it is easy with hindsight, but he really has let us down.
I wonder what the players think when he is picking the team...

I'll be so s**t scared when it comes to penalties that I'll be one of the 75% who can't score from the spot and then the papers will blame me for taking En-ger-land out it'll be horrible waaahhhhhhhh...
Maybe they need a little confidence in their own abilities on the international stage. Rather than worrying and being scared about being the one that doesn't score maybe they'd do better with a bit more "I really can score against this team" confidence.
I find it very difficult to imagine any half time talk from Sven being particularly exciting or inspiring.
