We did a poll on location of members in the UK a while ago. Cant remember if it was on this forum or our old one. But then alot of new members have joined since my forum vacation!

Perhaps we could collect some more info again? and plot it onto a map?
I dont mind going to some where in the mdlands, but the old bus does have a fuel addiction. Seems to chew optimax for fun!

And if there is mapping involved, the fuel bills just mount up! My own fault for having 350+bhp

Good initiative Tom. When are you going to produce the map? I live in Surrey but don't mind travelling for a good venue.

Elvington. Mmmmm nice. I went up there to watch Richard Brown do the record attempt on his rocket powered bike a few years ago (just before he went to the states where the BBC did a documentary...he hit 360mph peak there). I think he peaked at 260mph at Elvington: not bad for less than 10 seconds acceleration (rocket assistance is the way to go guys)!! Richard was working with us at the time so he invited me up to watch...Good venue and I would travel there. One thought on the runway though, would we have to pay for safety services for their insurance purposes ie fire and ambulance? All of these trackdays and max speed events on UK runways have full safety support too. I don't really want to pay for it but the runway provider might insist. Many cars over a few days and it may just work out cost effective....I am sure we will find a rolling road there too but similarly it just might be too far for too many S2s.

            Alistair,

that chart is superb! nice work on that one, so great, you should do another one

Well I'm in the S'arf east and don't care where the meet is, I'll travel, over nighters, tents, motels, blanket on the ground, back of the Avant, couldn't give a tdi where I stay.

We can huddle the Avants round the coupes and build a tipee, smoke the pipe of S2 peace and get wide eyed on coke and veggie burgers

Gerg and Darron can be chef again, their food was tops!

There is a rolling road about 5 miles north of elvington
Alwyn Kershaw in gate helmsley, quite a small place, used to do a lot of race preperation on old alfas, havent checked up on them for a while, had my renault 5 done there a few years ago.
did find a website for them.....lol... theyre now a 4x4 offroad specialist
                          still doing rolling roads though.

                            4 wheel drive cheaper?

                            I notice 4WD is £45 + VAT whereas 2WD is £50 + VAT.
It's not often that things are cheaper for Quattros!

They wouldn't be happy if you broke their rollers. Although I'm sure they get more powerful things on the rollers than series one landrovers.

They may not be used to 4 wheel drives which aren't covered in sheep crap, or filled with sheep? unless it's for the BBQ.

It would be all right to eat the sheep as they are all vegetarian.
