    Angle conversion to torque

    Hi!
    I'll stick this here.
Is there a conversion from angle to torque? So that when it is specified that a fastener be tightened to say 20nm + 50 degrees, you can calculate the final torque value.
    Thanks!

This would be a very complex forumla I think.......

As thread sizes can be different the amount of torque generated per turn of the thread would also be different......and also the thickness of the bolt would affect torque applied//

To much effort to try and work out though!!

    Anyone>?

      Yep!
I fear you are right! Maths not a strong point.
I can how it produces more accurate results than a torque figure as it effectively moves the fastener a precise amount depending on the pitch.
