Ck.
Shocked, exhausted, hosed, bushed, dumped, chipped, mounted, filtered, gauged, packed, intermittantly wiped and braked. I mean broken. Now, about the car...
So aparrently it's not only good enough that I can't afford to buy a house in this country, but soon I won't be able to afford a car to get around, or a ticket to get the hell outta here. They should just call it "freedom tax" (no, not a tax on gays ) coz that's what this government takes from us when they push up the taxes.
The media must be doing a good job, coz it's amazing how many complete idiots agree with this tripe.
Anybody out there who keeps putting off getting a quick motor should get down the bank today.
Buy yourself that dream car get out there and give it some shi!!!! before it's to late.
Next stop Sinclair c5's
Don't say you wern't warned!

reminds me of a kids story about the wind and the sun argueing over who could get a mans jacket off , the wind tried first, it blew harder and harder but the man only pulled his jacket tighter and tighter until the wind grew out of puff ,then it was the suns turn ,he just shone brightly and the man took his jacket off easy victory .The moral of the story is give people an option that really works and is cheap and they will take it ,squeeze them and they will only hold on tighter. night night children said the old man
I'd make more of an effort if i felt that those over the pond were prepared to make some sacrifices and get serious about climate change. No offense to guys on here but the US is one of the biggest polluters on the planet yet they seem disinterested in their responsibilities at a political level.
Us drivers are already hit with stupidly expensive fuel, a road fund tax that goes nowhere near the roads and police with bloody cameras on every corner to extract the final few quid from our wallet - much of it not remotely related to road safety or used to make safe dangerous areas, an annual MOT which will break £50 this year - I'd love to know where its gonna stop.
I work hard, I'm largely law abiding, I pay (through the nose) my taxes, i recycle, am a home worker who used public transport in the main for business travel and I am royally shafted by this government...
If they want to cut traffic, emissions etc then they could do much more to incentivise it. However they dont want you to get rid of your car really which is why they just raise taxes left right and centre because they know we wouldn't ditch our cars so its easy money for them......
Just think how much easier it would be to provide tax breaks for companies who promote homeworking, or have solar panels on their premises etc etc to generate cleaner energy and get people off the roads or get freight back onto the rails...
I hate everything this govenrment has instigated to shaft the people that live in it....
They can tax me as hard as they like but the only way the government will get my S2 keys off me is to prize them from my cold dead fingers.
Strangely... I don't blame the government for these taxes or tolls. I think that at the moment we are getting away lightly. If they really listened to the Eco Warriors we would all be scuppered.
I like the idea of a Carbon budget. I recycle, I only use the heating when required, I save water, I own all the most efficient 'A' rated appliences and I use public transport to get to work. My belief is that due to the savings I make in the rest of my life I should be allowed to use my S2 for minimal cost.
Just a few of my thoughts... please ask if you want more but beware I have no off switch once started.
The government keep pushing up the price of car ownership yet they really don't want people to get rid of their cars.
Just imagine what would happen if everybody stopped using their cars for a couple of weeks.
No tax raised on fuel.
No speed tickets.
No congestion charges.
No parking revenue.
No parking tickets issued so no income from that - also no work for traffic wardens so would have to pay them for just sitting around or lay them off.
We have a transport system which is inefficient and can barely cope now, let alone if everybody turned to it to get to work. In fact most people wouldn't get to work as house prices have forced people further and further away from their place of work.
The knock on effect just goes on and on and the bottom line is the country's economy would crash big time.
Shame in this country nobody is prepared to make a stand like they do in France. A few days p[rotest and prices would soon fall. Either that or the government would.
Well, what with the price of fuel and the potential road tolls there is no way I could afford £1800 a year on road tax.
It would have to be bye-bye Audi if it fell into the highest VED category, which given the usual misguided thought processes of those that rule it probably would.
It wouldn't surprise me if anything over a 1.8 litre is labelled as a 'gas-guzzler'.
Even when not taking all this into account I'm finding it hard to find ways of affording anything even resembling a home at the moment. I suppose turning 30 has made me think of life's priorities really. The car may have to go anyway....

I couldnt agree more, yes its true that us Brits generally dislike the French, but you have to admire their comradship, they all stick together when their govornment tries to do something which the public do not like, they have brought their govornment to do complete u-turns on more than one occasion, i live is Australia now and although this country has its fair share of problems, Britain out taxes us by quite a bit.
When we left Britain there was facts about this on the Ex-pats websites, when i left the Tax rate in UK was around 49% (By the time you earn your wage, pay the tax, save your wage, pay the tax, spend your wage, pay the tax) in Oz it is around the 41% mark which still isnt great but its better.

public transport is great if you live in a town, I DONT!
i live in the sticks bout 8miles from my work which is a short drive over a couple of big hills, unless you live near the great orm trains dont go up hill very well
now if i were to get the bus or the train, i would have to set off a 6am instead of 7.45
i would have to go into town (10miles opersite direction)
wait for a bus to drop me no where near work (bout 3 miles away)
or get on another train which would make me half an hour late for work
yeah i could ride a bike to work but by the time i get to work i would be sweatin like a blind lesbian in a fish mongers market
far as im concernd this goverment can go f.u.c.k itself
they can raise fuel and tax etc, untill im forced to feed my addiction to driving through stealing from friends and family
they will then have to fund my habbit via the NHS - if they will support piss cans and smack rats dont see why they can't support me -
