No, me neither - this particular political party had four previous attempts in government and they all ended with the country on it's knees financially. This time they've been given three bites at the cherry and they've made an even bigger f*ck up, the effects of which will take years (decades?!!) to rectify...

      NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Sadly the rest of the country don't think the same way.

But then at the moment the choices aren't exactly great: if you base a vote on the policies (assuming they actually tell you what they are) and/or the leaders (assuming you can remember who they are) it seems to be a case of picking the one you least object to, rather than the one you actually want.

      Ck.

Lol what a funny guy 40%................... the reality is between 76-84% is the amount of tax is on petrol, depends on which one you buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Which leads back to my original quoted figure - if approximately 80% of the price of the fuel is tax, that's four fifths of the total amount - which makes the tax four times as much as the actual price...

Hence my original quoted value of 400% tax.

IIRC, the south of this country and patches of the countryside were generally tory or lib dem in the past election. The huge populations in the north east, large cities and scotland were labour all the way. Figure it, you will generally vote labout if you are dependant on the state - no offence, but it's the truth that under this gov you are gonna see yourself as better off it you are:

            a) Public sector
            b) Unemployed
            c) Dependant on benefits
            d) A single mum

I'd imagine that covers a good 50% of the population, talk about buying yourself a majority share of the votes!

pretty much without exception in my view those that in theory represent us in the House of commons are spineless, self-interested, bent in at least one way and so far removed from the realism of your average Joe and the issues they want resolved that it's not worth them turning up. Not that they will now anyway, in this 24/7 society they have p**sed off for 11 weeks in freebie villas in the sun...

I cannot see any creditable alternative to those idots who apparently govern us, they are a bunch of fence sitters who are happy to address any issue with a tax based solution and sit on the fence or up the a*se of the US president on international issues. They are lost in the fog of focus groups and advisory panels

i think we'd all be financially better off and safer if we bailed out of britain to a neutral country who doesn't feel the need to brown-nose the USA every 5 mins. I'm seriously worried about the future and the future for my kid(s) in the uk

I thought fuel prices in London were up to 117p already? Its mad, I remember seeing 100ron race spec fuel in silverstone in september 2004....

I can imagine that fuel will start costing this much soon!

                  Aha!

So if there is a new fuel protest...
...we need to lobby for 100 RON fuel...
...as well as a price reduction!!!

It's a hard choice when going to work:

But having the engine in pieces makes the choice a little easier..
