Most weight you've had in your car?

Just wondering, as the other day I was carrying myself (13.5st) and 3 mates (23st, 18.5st and 15st - the big boys!) and I had 3 crates in the boot and a few other bits and pieces. Thats about 70st of bodies and probably 15-20kg of booze!

Still pulled like a train, although that was the first time that it felt noticiably slower than it has done with 1 or 2 normal passengers!

Also, just thinking then, its probably a good idea that I havn't fitted the new plastic seat clips that go on the runners to stop them wobbling about! 23st would have gone straight through them!!!

Had a mate up front and 3 ladies in the back, they weren't as heavy as ur mates though the car was noticably a little slower.

Yep, mine is noticably slower with a couple of people, and a couple of guitars etc.

does a trailer on the back count? still quicker than a 1.8T A4 to 60 off a roundabout

Mine was noticably slower off the mark with the boot loaded up with wine after holiday in France a couple of years ago. I don't tend to notice much difference with someone in the passenger seat, but with a couple of people in the back it does show a little.

Still puts a smile on the face though.

          Ck.

I drove from London to Amsterdam and back last summer with 5 up plus luggage - that's 5 fully-grown rugby-playing type blokes (it was a tight squeeze in the back, I'm glad I was driving!) - plus essential drinking and reading material for the journey. My car is already lowered, but even fully loaded it didn't look like it had dropped much lower with all that extra weight. On the motorway it drove really well - clearly heavier, bit slower to turn in, but the ride was much smoother! Still pulled really hard , but you could tell I was dragging a few Kgs more around... Had "fun" driving onto, up, and off of the Seacat though, there really wasn't enough ground clearance. I made my passengers get out of the car when we went up in to the parking areas as it was grounding out on all the ramps. Not nice.

Dunno about you guys but i can tell the difference between a quarter of a tank and half a tank of fuel by the acceleration.

so sticking in extra 4 bodies you will definitly notice a difference.

As I am lacking a cylinder, I felt every ounce of those 5 extra bodies. Still, it felt quicker than my brothers old fiat (we finally managed to get him to change car, so he got an A4 )
