has a quick race this morning...

soon as I got on the slip road a audi A3 started to race me. It was a nice looking A3, with only A3 as badge. nice flared arches, big wheels and dual exhaust, and it was fast (i suspect debadged S3 or A3 3.0 q)

he didnt have a chance really, he gave it a good go i give him that, i passed him at around 70 and he kept up with me to about 110. at which point he was around 5 car lenghts behind me and he obviously knew he coudnt catch up. At which point he turned on his blue flashing lights, pulled up next to me, shouldted some verbal abuse through 70mpg wind and drove off. be careful, there everywhere.

(about a year ago i had a similar A3 sit in a empty carpark and record me trying my oversteer, I had no clue police used these as undercover).

Good one! i Kept up with a R reg porker turbo the other day, so so so happy after. A car was in front of him and he indicated left so, aplied the left foot brake and launched at about 5k in 2nd he was well up for it. He didnt know the roads so i was lucky by a half a mile dash i was only 2 or 3 car lenghts away doing 130? maybe. But of course this was on a private road

a similer experience when we were heading home in my sister's boyfriends new A4 TDI the 170 odd hp non-quattro version.
Noticed a pertrol car sitting behind a big lorry so, slowed down to slowly pass him. After passing them we got in front of the truck so we couldn't be seen and floord it. looking to our side there was this other A4 doing the same on the outside lane. He kept side by side till about ton10 then showed his badge, with a quick smile and a nod.
Trying to look like we know we shouldn't do it, we slowed down again. The unmarked A4 carried on at rate of knots, well if you could get away with it wouldn't you.

bout a week ago i passed a marked people carrier @ 140 :O luckily they didnt have tickets on them and were on way to a job.

they stopped a searched tho (once they caught up). Damn I can be so stupid at times. Can still picture that nice blonde in a uniform with a taser gun.. mmmmmmmm..

Ive had a few similar experiences like this before. Doing 90 odd on a dual carriageway in my 306 a few years ago and I wasnt really looking in my rearview. Took one glance and saw a galaxy patrol car with its sirens on up my **** and when he came past I could see the passenger mouthing "SLOW DOWN" as they overtook me and went off somewhere in a hurry.

The French police are funnier though, while on my gap year 2004/5 season I must have had 10 police men stopped at the side of the road waving their arms trying to get me to slow down! We once drove from Meribel - Nice (6hrs of mountain roads!!) and there must have been 4 occations where I'd come round a corner at about 90 only to see a police checkpoint pulling over cars and a flapping policeman, probably shouting "You stupeeed pig-dog English man!" Apparently there were passport checkpoints all round the country that week for some terrorism-associated reason!
