Um, a bit of BTDT advice please! Here's the situ:
2am, having a bit of a blast back to Milnthorpe on the A6, I came upon a puddle that suddenly looked very big and deep, and hit the brakes - too little too late...
I got out the other side, with difficulty as she obviously wanted to die, dipped the cluch and the very sick sounding engine cut instantly. After some time to dry and many futile attempts to start her, I gave it one more try - the battery drained, it turned over twice very reluctantly. And then burst into life (albeit with some reluctance to idle).
So, to the point, is there anything I should check? Anything I should open + check for moisture? I was worried sick that water in teh engine (the air filter was ratehr damp to say the least) could screw with her majorly, could contaminate the oil or cause some other significant damage I should be aware of... I figure someone on here will know 'correct procedure' for when you'r drowned your car!
by the time I drove the 2 miles back to my bro's she was idling without problems, still not happy with much throttle, but I left her running for about 10 mins and then gave a few revs and she seems normal. Sounds like something is rubbing/catching underneath the car but I'll check for damage & missing bodywork when it's light!
Fingers crossed I haven't royally f**cked something up
Cheers 'n
