The quickest way to out-perform most evo's, and their drivers, is to 'really', 'really' learn to drive, advanced 'performance style' drive, properly...

I've never got around to taking any courses, but I know a guy who has and he can pretty much match a very rapidly driven (& modified) Scooby down some seriously challenging roads in a 1.8 focus... The wheelman is worth £5000 worth of mods...

        Good point
Forgot to say above, I can pretty much run rings around that EVO (when it actually runs) as the lad in question drives it like all boy racer types do. All out foot to the floor, with no forward planning or car control.
Followed him one night after a late shift, balls out in front of me, way to fast into corners and braking mid corner On the exit I probably had a good 20mph over him, enough to overtake.
Next day of course, he said the car had a problem and didn't feel right
I don't drive around like a loony, did this just the once to prove a point, and we haven't let him forget either

Ross overtook an EVO 6 or 7 that he had battled for a few turns on the Nurburgring whilst I was "co-piloting" for him...

i've had an evo 4 & 5, the urquattro i own now is miles better build quality @ 21 years old. when you shut the door on my quattro it dosen't feel like you are going to rip the door off, UNLIKE THE EVO. QUATTRO ALL THE WAY M8

Buy a B4 Sedan Quattro and make it as leight weight as possible and install all those parts that factory used in the B4 DTM racer and then install 20v turbo engine with 350 to 420 hp and it will be fast. Driving skills make the most ! Cornering with B4 sedan is better than in S2 coupe due to more advanced rear axle structure with far less over steering. Rs2 is nice too, but the car is too heavy.

If you want to have easy "economical" tuning potential with durability the misuhisisihisi or Subarusina does not even come close. Thats my slightly colorated opinion.

Altho i love my S2 loads, it just does'nt suit me now. (my back)
Have tried to cope with it, but if someone comes & buys it, my next car will
be jap. (give me stick if ya want ) as said before evo or rx7.
But untill my back gets better the car is staying parked up.

Oh and then if there is another garage meet i will bring it along,
and maybe let you test drive it. (within reason tho, or you get cs sprayed) :mischeif:

Not really sure what you were saying there, but if you've got a bad back I wouldn't buy a jap car, their far more uncomfortable than an S2. Plus, I'm not sure about you, but I'd be too scared to drive an RX7 full out on the road after owning an AWD! My mates car is running 350bhp and he can't get any traction at WOT before 45mph in 1st/2nd! I supose its a different style of driving, but one I'm sure wouldn't do your back any good!

With regards to the Evo, its a differnt car really. For those of you who (like me) use their S2 as their everyday car, then I'd say noway; but for a weekend car that doesnt need to be driven alot, I'd consider an Evo for sure! However, I'd prefere to spend up to 5k on my audi (than the cost of buying + modding an evo) to make it faster and better than an Evo, just to show the world how good the 20v T engine is!
...ever since I floored you I knew that I loved you!

quite a few people have warned me about the RX & back problem.
But the evo standard set up is a lot more softer than vinny's set up. Just being nosy in the evo III & IV
as thats all i will be able to afford.
I will see how i get on

Put Vinny back on standard wheels, springs and dampers, but keep/get the uprated ARB's then.

Get some of your money back by selling the uprated bits on 'the-bay'...
