Tesco99 is still cheaper and just as performance-enhancing IMHO having run tanks of both through recently, although of course if your local Tesco doesn't do the 99 stuff, the Shell v-power is very welcome.Ex S2 owner, now running around in an A4 Avant quattro...

Just found this article on pistonheads. I was pretty surprised although it doesn't say they've actually tested V-Power yet.
My rule of only ever using optimax/V-power may have to be broken!

Not exactly the best test in the world, to be objective the tanks should have drained and then the new fuel introduced for 3 tanks to get it into the system.Originally posted by DpicarielloJust found this article on pistonheads. Also different cars behave differently to fuels.Comment

Yeah,
The fact that they said that they seemed surprised that different cars behaved differently to different fuels made me question their test.
I was surprised at how a supermarket fuel had managed to out perform one of the most highly regarded fuels around though.
I still reckon V-power is a cleaner fuel and know that it comes from a seperate refinery (unlike all other fuels which come from the same pipe) so may stick with it. It's just annoying that I have a 30mile round trip to get it!!!!Comment
